Drillers donate $9,093 to Red Cross
The Tulsa Drillers have made a donation of $9,093.01 to the American Red Cross to help victims from the outbreak of storms and floods this spring. The funds were raised from tickets sales and from auctions of game-worn jerseys as well as from auctions and raffles that were conducted by the wives and girlfriends of the Drillers’ players.
The monies were donated specifically to help victims from the storms in Oklahoma and Joplin, Missouri as well as those affected by the storms that struck Alabama. The club has several players with ties to the state of Alabama.
“We are very pleased to be able to help some of those folks that have been affected by the storms that ravaged many areas this spring,” said Drillers public relations director Brian Carroll. “This type of amount would not have been possible without the great support of our fans and our players and their spouses.”
